Play Now Pay Later [UPDATE]

Cavs won Game 3, and so picking LeBron will have to wait for Game 5. For now I have Korver picked. Notice that whenever he’s on the floor, the Cavs run plays designed to rev him up. A PRA of around 20 should be within reach.

Dubs won Game 3 convincingly, and so we continue picking on the Rockets. Chris Paul for Game 4 on the road, and Harden back home for Game 5.

A tie?

If the Cavs win Game 4 to tie it, then I’d start picking on Celtics for the rest of the series, EXCEPT if Celtics go up 3-2 (LeBron for Game 6).

If the Rockets win Game 4 to tie it, I’ll still be picking Rockets, EXCEPT if Rockets go up 3-2 (Durant for Game 6, risk Curry).

Anyways, that’s several chess moves in advance. It’s nice to savor the now. For now.

Good luck with your picks!

UPDATE: LeBron ties it 2-2 so he’s off the hook. Game 5 pick: Rozier :)

UPDATE 2: Banking on Warriors for Finals. If they don’t, then it’s a complete bust this year :P

  1. I'm NOT waiting for the Rockets to lose again to pick Harden.... I found out that he becomes SOFTEN in elimination games, not only getting just 20 PAR (only 10 regular points) but hearing he had a list of these elimination chokes! Game 4 is a MUST play as a result!

  2. I need some Love tonight...I am not waiting to pick main players from the teams I think they will lose. Because I am already afraid that I waited too long on CP3. I hope he will be fine, but he didn't look good yesterday

    1. I am so lucky that he will be in foul trouble all night long and Cavs will advance to the Finals. While Korver will make a triple double with blocks xD

  3. I've got Tristan Thompson tonight. Not sure how this will work out, but it will probably look something like 15PRA. Woo hoo! Love these Cav scrubs!

  4. Ah, the curse of the wrong order strikes again. There is not much to pick from regarding the Cavs, I picked two of them in their homestand and had the wrong order. I started with Thompson in g3 and followed with Love in g4 (17+23). My buddy had it reversed and got a little more out of it (31+27).

Seriously, how can the Cavs win in the playoffs and Love score in single digits? How on Earth is that even possible?

Aside from that, what is going to happen in the best-of-3 that the East has evolved into? Can the Cavs win on the road? Preferably in g5? If the Celtics win, James in g6? Would it go 7? Pick James there? Trust him and save him for the Finals? The only way to have James in the Finals is if the Cavs win in 6.

Meanwhile in the West the butchering goes on. Not a single game that is even remotely interesting in the final quarter. Too much garbage time in every game. Shouldn´t these two allegedly best teams in the league be able to be at least a little more competitive? Again, the playoffs started off with a really interesting first round, and then?

At least one thing is for sure: It doesn´t much matter excactly what Harden does in g4, because everybody will pick him. Nobody wants that guy in an elimination game, even on homecourt. That might lead to a 55 for everybody, or a 21. Doesn´t matter, everybody gets the same. Just like everybody has to pick James if the Celtics get their third win.

I hope everybody is prepared to pick only Warriors in the Finals.

    1. I’ll still have Hill, Korver, Smith in the Finals if I need them along with any other Cavs bench guy. I have enough Celtics still to pick to finish the Eastern Finals so I’m sitting pretty (if only Tatum had done better yesterday)

  5. I've got Eric Gordon tonight. Saving James Harden for home. I know Harden is bad in elimination games, so I'm not sure how good I feel about it if Golden State is up 3-1, but I similarly don't feel good about picking Harden for Game 4. Harden is just an unpredictable guy, he bounces between unbelievable and invisible at a moment's notice.

EFU HARDEN and EFU Rockets that was the most despicable performance I have seen in history! Yes teams have lost by 40+ but they weren't at full strength getting blown out by a shorthanded team on the road much less at home! Harden 20 PAR in GD and not used in FP!

I really didn't expect that poor performance by the Rockets. I guess it was too late to pick Harden in a team with a 7 players rotation. I hope Wall doesn't repeat the same kind of performance tonight. People who picked them before elimination games would benefit too much to recover later

******Harden has always performed bad in elimination games. I got PAR of (9,16 and 23) the past few years feeling under the weather except last year when I pick him earlier.

    aceee06May 12, 2017 at 11:23 PM
Now you tell me, should have taken him in Game 5 where he had his best performance in the series (53 PAR) or otherwise in Games 3 (50) or 4 (45). Game 6 was not only his worst showing of the playoffs but he wasn't even best or 2nd best on his own team with Trever Ariza (26 and Clint Capela (27) beating him and went under HALF his average PAR. That being said, he got a 9 one year? Talk about total disapearance, and he calls himself MVP. Guess what he did upon elimination or may I rephrase it HUMILINATION (humiliation and elimination combined).... The CLUB!!!!! https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/james-harden-hits-club-houstons-season-ending-39-point-loss-173218527.html Yes people were still chanting MVP after that garbage performance and they must have been drunk doing so!!!!! Having an apparent suck history in elimination games proves he's a #FakeMVP !!!!!

Yup, that is what I will do next season if his team does not advance to the next round. I been burned by Harden the 4th time I picked him. Indicating he is under the flu or hidden injury, this ta the most unacceptable performance I've seen in a game.

Felt bad for Harden pickers, but I think it's just a very isolated case. Stars should still be performing better in elim games. Just unlucky.

5/4 Bradley Beal (17) - The refs called 4 fouls on Beal and the blowout kept him off the floor in the 4th quarter.---- John Wall (36) I had a feeling I missed his best, but there are worse things COUGH HARDEN COUGH!
5/11 James Harden (20) MORE LIKE CHOKE HARDEN CHOKE!!!!! For some players 20 PAR is a good showing, for Harden it is terrible! He had only 10 regular points and apparently he sucks in elimination games which I did not know! He got drunk at a club after the game so it shows how much he cares about winning! I lost him in the other game outright as I did not think the Rockets would lose with Leonard out and they lost by 39!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN HARDEN NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!---- Lamarcus Aldridge (54) - Despite the Spurs having the "3" in the series I did not think they would win but I wanted to split Harden like usual so if the Spurs won in 7, I'd get hopefully LA's best performance the rest of the playoffs despite the Spurs going to another round and if Leonard was out in G7 I'd still get a strong showing in the Spurs last round! There was NO G7 thanks to HEARTLESS HARDEN! Who would have seen that coming? Who? God? Maybe maybe not even God but certainly nobody else! Alright good news is my strong showing belief happened with a 50+ performance and maybe it will be his best showing of the playoffs after all!

    1. He's not always like this as he had great performances in the 3 games prior to elimination as he usually has 35+ and often times 45+ but elimination games left him nowhere to be found so I must take him tonight while he's still "HARD"en, if the Rockets win it's all for naught but I banked on the Warriors winning this game and series from the get go so I believe Harden's team will be on the brink of elimination after tonight!

    2. I learnt the lesson and picked Harden already. Cp3 tonight, maybe Ariza if Warriors win tonight. I would be glad for 26 from him :-)

  7. I just blinked and the Rockets went from trailing to up by 10 and now lead by 7 at the half. If the Rockets win it will be great for Houston and the league but mess up "the process" in GD and FP!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Rockets come from 10 down to win which throws these games into chaos now I must take Warriors which means less for the finals possibly only 1 player if it's Cavs vs Rockets!

    2. DTTF nightmare with both series tied & the 2 “favored” teams only have 1 game at home out of the remaining 3! Craziness!

      Delete
  9. Hahaha, and now? WTF happened? The tickets for the Warriors-Celtics-Finals were already printed, and now here we are. Both series tied after four games, meaning there are two best-of-3-series to decide who goes to the big stage.

East: Best-of-3 and homecourt for the Celtics, but it´s still LeBron on the other side. Left to pick? 1 or 2 Celtics, LeBron, that´s it. I think for g5 I will go to the hometeam and pick a Celtic.

West: Best-of-3 and homecourt for the Rockets, the number 1 team in the League. Still, it´s the Warriors with Durant and Curry and Green and more on the other side. I pretty much cleaned my Rockets roster and still have most of the Dubs left. Now? Panic button. If I go for another Rocket and they win that would leave me every Warrior (minus Thompson) and the team maybe down 2-3? Not acceptable. So I have to pick one of the big two. And the other one in FP. I don´t want to think about the Rockets winning g5 and the Warriors winning g6.

Good news, the playoffs are interesting again. DTTF on the other hand just got incredibly difficult. Won´t be much left to pick from come the Finals, I am afraid.

    2. Glad I already picked Curry. Durant & Green would be my next men up for those two games, BUT the Warriors are still favored to the win the series. Too much star power & experience.
