Game Seven Craze

Two more Game 7s! Why not? Isn't this the best weekend of basketball? Add in the Nets@Raptors and Mavs@Spurs. I love this game!

Among all four teams, my best available player is DeMar DeRozan. And he gets my pick.

My next available consistent players are Tim Duncan, Monta Ellis. But DeRozan's potential PRA in Game 7 and in Toronto is hard to ignore.

I'm not even factoring-in who will win, because honestly the Nets@Raptors is a toss up to me, even if I tagged the Nets the winner before Round 1 even started. Crazy things have happened, and they will again.

As for the Mavs@Spurs, of course I'm rooting for the Mavs. Because of the DeRozan PRA's large difference from anyone in this series, I am saving myself from having to choose between Spurs' dominance and my Mavs.

Go Mavs!

  1. And my pick goes to... Tony Parker... hoping for his best PRA in the serie, considering it is an elimination game and he's playing home.

  2. Well......... I'm taking a Clipper....
    ...
I only have two good players from both the ATL-IND game
.....Paul Millsap, Jeff Teague then Lance Stephenson, David West.
Not picking from either team because I'd want at least two from both teams to go though rather than the one and be happy...
    ...
From MEM I still have Mike Conley, Tony Allen and Mike Miller
From OKC..Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka, Reggie Jackson and ..................Kendrick Perkens
Hoping for a OKC win and taking them though, I can not pick a MEM player and root for high PRA win I need MY Thunder to win lol
    .....
GS players left...Anre Iguodala, Draymond Green and Harrison Barns
...but just in case they win I need them next round...
Soooooooooooo because I have Sooooooooooo many LAC players left I will pick from them...
    Blake Griffin
    Chris Paul
    Deandre Jordan
    Jamal Crawford
    JJ Ridick
    Matt Barns and
    Darren Collison
......Haven't made up my mind for tomorrow....
Though I do believe that I will not touch the SAS-DAL game as it is to close and will love to take the players from the winning team with me as I have not used ANY from either team...
    ......I might actually take a NET :)

    2. I'm actually picking a player from a team I think WILL win...

  3. Will Griffin foul out early tonight?
    .....That is the question....

    1. no way he'll get the calls that's why Clippers will win, It may sound silly but the officials determine some games to go to 7 just so they can be more entertaining which means more $$$ for the nba. They tried to do the blazers yesterday but thankfully Lillard is Jordan eske clutch.

  4. 30 from Dirk was good, Taong please tell your mavs to stop playing so well god damn.

Anyway today my picks I can make are Conley,Thompson and Iggy.

My original plan was to go Conley but him getting injured and not being 100% and too make it worse he has to chase Westbrook all over the court means I won't risk it when the other guys are fit and can produce as much as him anyway.

So which one should I pick ? I could pick Iggy and he usually does well in games like this etc triple double threat but with Thompson getting 11 pra last game I think the timing was just right for me to pick him. Also think he'll end up getting Curry's shots today because CP3 will make it really tough for Curry which will make him do the extra pass to the advantage of Thompson. Well thats what i hope...

    1. Good call on Kyle... It's rare that players like that have two games in a row like that(11pra) You can bet he at least gets 30 tonight...

    1. Or a net? But doubt it..thoughts on Lowry or Ellis tho??

    2. Lowry, he'll rack 30+ PRA and it's ok even if they win.

      Delete
  7. I'm going to take a NET myself. Probably Joe Johnson... I of course think TOR will win....
....I have not picked any SAS or DAL players and will be happy not to burn one and take all the winning team players to the second round.. :)
    ...............Good luck
    Thunder UP !!

  8. Westbrook killing it tonight.... !!!

  9. A 32 PRA from Gasol in a losing effort in spite only getting 2 rebounds. I'll take that. I got fortunate that my gambling paid off this round with Oklahoma City and Portland moving on. If only I had been brave enough to predict the same for Indiana. For Sunday's Game 7's, I've picked DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry, Monta Ellis and Dirk Nowitzki. It's safe to say I'm out of quality Mavericks and Raptors. So my pick is either a Spur or a Net. I'm most confident in the Spurs to win (although I'd be ecstatic with a Mavericks victory), so it's time to play Net Roulette. Today the spinner lands on Paul Pierce. If he makes the second round, he'll have no value guarding LeBron. And in Game 7, as a veteran with loads of experience, I expect him to dictate a lot of the play. He's owned by 1% of people.... Brrrr, cold pick time!

    1. Haaaaaaaaa Good stuff... wish I had stuck to my guns and not taken Kevin Durant the other day!! oh well....

      ..Good luck to you :)

  10. It's amazing. Pacers and OKC both down 2-3 and I knew they would win. Now let's hope it's true for clippers and spurs too

  11. I love it when a plan comes together...
....D. Jordan got me 35pra(tied with Griffin and higher than 5 other players with a higher percentage ownership) AND the LAC won.
    .....
That 35pra (his 3rd highest in that series 38,44) with Jordan was THE slowest and most painful to get. 15pts, 18r and 2a..... I'm tickled pink with it lol... Good luck to those who use him next round...

  13. Now this at long last is a time when I am considering quitting out of frustration.

I prepicked LaMarcus Aldridge for game 7 on sunday in case the Rockets would win game 6. They didn´t and I was thinking about picking DeRozan instead, being my best available player for today who isn´t playing the Spurs.

I was away this weekend and am online now here in Germany, it´s about 3.30 pm, there is still lots of time to pick before the first game starts. But going on the homepage it tells me "Game in progress" for the Rockets - Blazers that clearly doesn´t happen. I can´t change the pick anymore.

I hope they cut this crap and let people pick as I can´t believe I am the only with this kind of problem, but right now I have: 0 points and no pick for Sunday AND Aldridge gone for round 2.

    That is ridiculous.

The playoffs are great this year, but that sucks. Fix it, NBA people :(

    1. Sorry to hear that my friend...
.... I've noticed that the contest say's that we have to have our picks in 5 minutes before game time. But tip off might not happen for a good 10 minutes or more after what is listed..
....Game time might be 9:30 so we have to have our picks in by 9:25, but tip off might not be till 9:45 or 9:50 so during that time we can not pick.... I had to get used to that.. normally a contest will allow you till 'actual tip off or kick off to make a pick....

    2. Sorry to hear that Alex. They should fix that. Try http://fantasy.nba.com/drive/pages/support
I hope they change it for you, or at least explain why it happened. Feel free to refer to your posts here as proof.

    3. the series are great so far, last yr it was abit meh. Anyway no one is beating the Heat again there isn't anyone good enough yet.

      Delete
    4. I doubt that Taong, MIAMI will face BKN in the next round and they haven't won against the Nets all season long. Yes the Heat will win, but it might be in 6 or 7

      Delete
  15. 22 from Thompson who had another poor shooting game. I should have just picked Conley who got 34. 12pt differential and dropped abit in rankings.

I have Spurs winning so have already picked Mavs main guys, Toronto/Nets series I haven't used any Net. I think they'll go through and if they don't i'm not bothered. So I'm picking my final Toronto player and it's Lowry.

    1. I was deciding between Gasol, D Lee and Thompson (I had already used Conley and Curry) and I took the worst of the 3. Gasol got 32, D Lee got 29, while Thompson got 22 so I lost as many as 10 points to Gasol pickers, 7 to David Lee my original choice. Even reaching the 20s was miraculous given his goose egg in the rebounds column.

    2. can't believe you didn't use gasol out of them 3 it was the obvious pick

  16. DeRozan is choking right now... only 10PRA with 2minutes left in the 3rd.

    1. 4 minutes left in the game and he has 26...i think thats good enough...but he sucked during the 1st half...too passive.

      Delete
    2. they double teamed him that's why, not surprising really should have used him before hand. PG's are better options in elimination games because you can't really double team them up the court.

      Delete
    3. yeah i think Nets prepared for DeRozan, but he's supposed to be an All Star? Anyway, next year ill take into consideration your observation above, but then its hard to really predict if a series will go the full length... Too bad I already picked Lowry before.

      Delete
    4. he's an all star but Nets have exp compared to DeRozan first playoff in his career. Nets were always going to win this they have the refs in their pocket which is disgusting, Raptors deserved to go through. I'm sure you'll do better next season not that your doing any bad now.

  19. This all ended great for me. The only player I don't have available on teams that advanced is Kevin Durant and I got 48 from him which I'm happy with it. Never used a Pacer, Net, Spur, Blazer, Wizard, Heat or Clipper player & I have 509 pts. This is my best year yet! Love the blog this year as well. Thanks guys!

    1. I just tried to figure it out, not sure if I got the PERFECT score, but I can't be too far off. I get 627 points, which would mean an average of 39.2 points per day.

  21. Paul Pierce was on his way to a nice game, and then picked up fouls like nobody else's business (he went from 2 at the start of the second half to 4 within minutes and then grabbed number 5 immediately upon return). Considering the foul trouble, I'm glad I even got 15 out of him. Picking Lowry over Noah in Game 4 was my downfall. Getting Noah's 30 and then Lowry in Game 7 would have been a life saver. Even with all that, 472 after round 1 and only losing two players from advancing teams - Paul George and Paul Pierce. And losing Pierce is not really a loss. Not a great amount of points but it puts in position to make a move in the next few rounds with some lucky picks.

  22. I started 2 days late. I would have picked dwill and Al Jefferson had I decided to start this game at the right time. Still, 418 points for round one, 45% tile, and I'm beating Kenny LOL. I'm happy.

My one regret, picking Noah (19) for game 3 instead of Harden (52). I did a coin flip and went with Noah. I could have picked dirk for today and Derozan for game 6, instead of doing the vice versa today. Regret that but not as much as the noah/harden pick

As for my remaining picks, I have everyone on all the advancing teams except Kevin Durant, and he dropped 48 for me. Can't wait to see just how I can get, even with being late a couple of days.
