The defeat of Thunder at the hands of Grizzlies signals that Kevin Durant, Kevin Martin and Reggie Jackson are now ripe for the picking. My pick plan dictates that if Grizzlies lead 2-1, I will pick a Thunder.
Durant certainly will give you anywhere from 40 to 60 PRA. He fights hard all the same whether you pick him in Game 4 (away) or 5 (home). However, in 1-N-Done, you may want to reserve him in an elimination game just in case the Thunder regain control of the series by winning Game 4.
Kevin Martin at almost 20 average PRA has a potential for 40+ PRA, but it is hard to ignore those PRAs of 8 he did twice this postseason. He is a bit of a gamble.
Reggie Jackson can be counted upon between the PRA of 20 and 30. He is the safer pick than Martin.
I would not want to pick Durant this early, so I am left with Jackson or Martin at an estimate of 22 PRA. However, there is this other game (Heat-Bulls) where I can pick as well. The Heat is more probable to advance at this point when compared to either the Thunder or the Grizzlies, so it continues to be safe picking a Bull. I have used most of the healthy Bulls and my next in line is Marco Belinelli. He averages about 18 PRA, but I reckon he can easily achieve the PRA that Martin and Jackson could give me.
Marco Belinelli it is. Viva Italia!

Whoa! A good pick? How did this happen? Reggie Jackson had his first double-double and was a top5-pick with a 28.
ReplyDeleteFor tonight it is a Bull as you pointed out. Still have Butler, Belinelli and all of the injured ones.
Bad news for you, Taong, as I picked before coming here and it´s Belinelli for me. Although, maybe the worst is over, no reason to panic.
Why they did this quirk with the schedule I do not understand. Well them´s the breaks.
Taong, you have read my mind... But, why to pick a Bull with 20+PRA if you can bet on a player with 40+ like Durant??? Bellineli can have his big night, but..
DeleteHe said its because Heat will move on for sure. Thunder may last because they can easily win game 4 and then go home and win game 5 which would put them in control of the series.
DeleteAlex, that's alright. I have nothing else in Bulls except Belinelli. Besides, you're getting good picks now; fate reversing!
Deletequark, also because of 1-N-Done's multiplier. Works well with the reason Luminosity has stated.
Oooops... I don't know the rules of 1-N-Done's... Sorry about.
DeleteYeah, this is where it gets really tricky. If you guess wrong and OKC makes it to the finals, you miss out on one of the few guys in the league who can put up 200 plus points with the 4x multiplyer.
ReplyDeleteWith the Heat (thanks to an injured and depleted Bulls team) likely to emerge in the East, the decision on when to use Durant will likely decide the entire game, or at least give a huge jump to those that nail the best timing for him.
I went Belinelli the last Bulls game and he put up 50 which was enough to keep me in the hunt. I'm holding off on Noah until an elimination game, and have still have Butler if that series extends.
Went with Jack today and he tied Duncan with the 2nd highest total keeping me around 94%, but the blown out of bounds call that lead to overtime cost SA the game, and could cost them the series. I'm definitely going down fast if the Warriors advance.
I'm going Reggie Jackson tomorrow.
I guess you really have to play hunches at this point. GS tied the series, but either team could win two in a row. Do you risk using Parker and Duncan the next game just in case. If you don't you could lose one of them.
All these series are just too close to do anything but trust your gut and go for it.
Which reminds me about that risk of missing a player.. gotta ponder if that's important, or more/less important other factors. I haven't decided what to do with May 14.
DeleteI was mulling over Jackson,Martin,or Randolph for tomorrow... First instinct was Jackson, don't know why? Haven't used any Thunder, yet, Heat, Spur, 1 Grizz, 1Pacer, 1 Knick, not Melo, 3 Bulls, & 4 Warriors which I hope won't comeback to bite me!!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe coz you're correlating Jackson with Westbrook. Plus he is #2 among starters.
DeleteYou are probably right Taong, correlating Jackson with Westbrook, but gotta feeling about Jackson. Still have Butler & Nate for Bulls & of course all injured/sick players for Bulls. Still going with Jackson unless something BIG makes me change my mind. Thank You for your response!!
