Pacers: Do or Die

Now that the Heat won Game 5, leads the series 3-2 and with the Pacers closer to elimination, we have no choice but to pick our last good Pacer. No matter how much you think the Pacers will win Game 6 at home, you run into a risk of missing that Pacer if Heat advances. My best remaining Pacer is David West, and he gets my pick.

If you have Paul George, Roy Hibbert or West, you should expect high 20s PRA from them. Lance Stephenson and George Hill performed relatively poorly in Game 5, but you can expect them to be back to their normal selves playing at home.

If you only have a bench player remaining with Pacers, you should think about picking a Heat player instead outside of the Big Three. In the Pacers system, their bench is not expected to score much. Mario Chalmers and Udonis Haslem are good pickups if you think your remaining Spurs and Heat players are more than enough for the playoffs.

Now, what most of us need is for the Heat to finish this series at 6. Otherwise, we'll all be pondering picking LeBron in Game 7, despite being the favourite to win that game. We wouldn't want that.

C'mon Heat. Finish it!

  1. Hello :)
Actually, in DTTF if you play Lebron in game 7 or during the Finals, it's quite the same ;)

    1. Not if one has a good Pacer available in Game 7 ;) A few in the comments section has a few good Pacers left.

  2. I'm going with Haslem. Why? D.J. and Psycho T are not even a safe 5PRA LOL. Haslem's really stepped it up and I won't be able to use him for the Finals anyways.

    1. Haslem is a good pickup. As Anonymous said below, Chris Anderson is suspended.

  3. Well, that was that.
Heat won game 5 and the series is as good as over. Pick my remaining starter from the Pacers and get it over with.

Too bad, my remaining starter is George Hill, who had 5 PRA in game 5??? How is that even possible?

The really annoying part is that I planned on picking Hill earlier when I accidentally picked George for 23 PRA (Hill had 22), and now I am left with Hill. I hope he at least takes part in game 6 at home.

Should the Pacers win game 6 it would be either Haslem or DJ Augustin in game 7. We´ll see about that.

Wade was not good in the last game with his 20, whereas Haslem or Chalmers had a 19. But picking any Heat player not named LeBron is a gamble anyway. They are a terrible team for DTTF, this season worse than ever. You can´t even count on Wade or Bosh to contribute. For that alone I wish the Pacers a lot of luck and the Spurs even more of that.

    1. Hill should bounce back. That 5 PRA was just so out of the ordinary.

  4. Now w/ Chris Anderson suspended for G6, the Heat will be down one body to contained indy's big. That means Haslem, Anthony, Lewis will see more playing time if they can stayed out of foul trouble. My choices are narrow down between Allen or Haslem.

  5. I'm so glad I have Paul George left. One of the easiest decisions I've made so far.

    1. Good save. Maybe his last chance to showcase himself. Granger gonna be playing next season.

  6. I'm guessing we have to pick LeBron now...

  7. Even if I make the correct decisions they bite me. I had Hill for 24 in game 6 (not too shabby, all things considered) but if I hadn´t mixed Hill and George up in game 2 or 3 (don´t remember which and can´t be bothered to look it up) I would have had Paul George and his 41 for last night´s game. Correct decision, but managed to screw up the picking out of stupidity. Well...

For game 7? Anybody not picking LeBron in DTTF is an idiot as it doesn´t make any difference if you pick him now or in the Finals. You can only lose by not picking him, especially if he does a LeBron and rips off a 46-12-8 as everyone knows he is capable of.

With that said I will pick Chalmers, my third best remaining Heat player. If Miami wins (as I think it will), I will have James, Bosh, all of the Spurs except Ginobili, that will be enough. If the Pacers win I am screwed anyway and will have missed out on LBJ. But, as in 2011 when I saved LeBron for game 7 of the Finals and didn´t get to pick him because Dirk and the JET didn´t want to wait too long to win it all, I will take one for the team. If the Pacers will win game 7 I will be (kind of) ecstatic.

I am so far behind this year it doesn´t really matter any which way. After the Kings/Seattle fiasco, how funny would a Finals-series between the Spurs and the Pacers be? David Stern´s head would implode.

    Go Pacers!

    1. Somehow I think they just used the Seattle group to drive the price of Kings up. They had aleays wanted it to stay in Sactown.

      Btw, pick LeBron ;)
