And Pacers Ruined It

Our fantasy game, that is. I know that the Pacers' defense is good enough to win some games, but I did not think it will be Game 1. Should we start picking Knicks?

I think it is too early. Give me another Knicks loss in the next two games, and you will see Melo put forward. Until then, I am not picking Knicks yet. A Game 2 Knicks win can put them back on track.

So am I still picking a Pacer? Well, nope.

A Thunder then? Nope! Well yes they just won because of one steal (by Fisher that led to KD's shot) and many believe that the Grizzlies should have won that game, and that the loss of Westbrook just meant the Grizzlies are favored.

That's the problem... the Grizzlies did not win Game 1. That and the thinking that the Thunder can still get this series -- that is why I am sticking to the plan of picking Mike Conley. It is a risk, but I don't think he will go 5 of 15 again like he did in Game 1.

Good luck with your picks.

  1. I picked Conley yesterday because I didn't think he would go 5 of 15 against OKC :(

    1. Ah Jush13. It happens to the best of us. The worst I've seen for a star player picked by many (11,200) was Dwight with 8 points in 2011.

    1. Ah aceee06 don't get us started on Ibaka. How about 2 points and 3 rebounds? That happened vs Dallas 2011.

  3. Taong, you're a lot... Just take the best player avaible. That's all... You will have to pick one or another some day... So don't worry about picking this or that. Just bet on the best.

  4. Yes, but when the game is over, look at your picks and wonder: Could I pick them in another way?? And the answer is always YES!!!
Each team has 1-2 players who will score always 30+ PRA, and 2-3 with 10-20+ PRA... The thing is to pick the second ones in a good day and don't pick the first ones in a ugly day... Sometimes you cann't follow a logical way of picking... but at last, you will have picked the same players...

    1. You are right.

Whatever strategy by whoever will always ask whenever, "Could I pick them in another way??" Even betting on best, anyone will ask that. You are right, there is no difference chance-wise because we all will pick them anyway.

  5. Went with Melo tonight and his strong game pushed me up to 92%. Obviously if I'm wrong about Indy winning this series I just ate it. But this was a must-win for NYK, Melo struggles on the road and that shoulder injury is only going to get worse so I'm hoping it was a smart move and that this is the best game we'll see this series from him.

Sadly Indy showed their inexperience and gave the game away happy to take the split home to Indianapolis instead fighting to get back into it so Melo sat the final 6 minutes. But he still put up 88.

    What an interesting game.

    1. If Knicks lost Game 2, that would have been a smart move. Now you have to wish Pacers win both home games to justify the Melo pick. Good luck though.
