I know the first game is just starting now and I'm late on this blog entry, but it's pretty simple so we go. As a reminder, I'm 1-5 so far in Bold Predictions.
BOS/MIL: Giannis will score 50+ and the Bucks will lose. He's been a monster lately scoring in the 40s. Obviously this is a must win and I see no way he doesn't go huge in the scoring column.
PHX/DAL: I cannot even believe this series is going 7. I'm a mess over this. However, Luka will finally get a triple double while the Mavs will lose. Let's go Suns!
----------------------------------
RESULTS:
BOS/MIL: Giannis only scored 25. Bucks lost like I figured they would
PHX/DAL: Let's never discuss this game ever again...
Current Bold Predictions Record: (1-7)
Damn I should have predicted Giannis triple double. Dude is dishing out assists big time to start the game.
ReplyDeleteWow, it's 62-27 in the 3rd quarter. This is my resignation as a Suns fan. I'm not rooting for them next year. Forget about it. This is a complete lack of effort. Mark this as the day I jumped ship. Time to find a team with heart.
ReplyDeleteImagine if this was your bold prediction. That would have been extra bold and you would have looked brilliant.
DeleteI root for Mavs, but the whole game I was feeling the pain for Suns. It’s really a very very weird game! It’s so unfortunate that one very bad game will destroy what they worked for the whole season.
DeleteReally feel for CP3. Just shows winning a ring is so darn hard.
"Mark this" as in Mark Cuban having the last laugh after the Suns fans were yelling Suns in 4 after games 1 and 2.
ReplyDeleteWhile these series remind me of what happened a round later in 2018, I have nothing to lose this time given my low position in the standings. I lost all the Suns and all Bucks but Giannis but even if I had them it wouldn't matter so might as well learn from my mistakes like not picking Morant early before he got hurt.
ReplyDeleteI really am not sure what to make of these two game sevens (games seven? g7s? everything looks strange).
ReplyDeleteLike pretty much anybody I lost most of the Suns (and that includes my brilliant Chris Paul pick for that match) and am looking forward to picking Maxi Kleber and Finney-Smith in the next round(s). Remember, the Mavericks were one of the most surefire outs in the first round because Doncic would be unavailable and the Jazz won the first game in Dallas.
Meanwhile, after the Bucks went up three times in their series against the Celtics, I am now out of Tatum and Brown in both games, Horford in FP, and only picked Giannis one game after his 70+ monster game 6 only to see him miss pretty much everything in the fourth quarter (yes, I also picked Portis this one time).
Guys I did not pick in the first two rounds: Booker, Ayton, Morant, Gobert, Middleton, Holiday
Guys I managed to pick once: Paul, Jackson Jr., Mitchell, Valanciunas, McCollum, Giannis, Embiid, Durant, Irving
Guys I picked in both games that brought nothing but disappointment: Bane, Harden, Siakam and worst of all Bogdanovic from the Hawks who sucked in the games I picked him and shined in the other games
Long story short: Who do I have left to pick for the next two rounds?
East 1: picked Butler in FP
East 2: no Tatum, no Brown, picked Hoford in FP
West 3: picked Poole in FP
West 4: no Doncic, no Brunson, no Dinwiddie, picked Bullock in GD
So, in the West I will have to lean heavily on Warriors. In the East, mostly Heat. In the Finals? No idea.
Sounds wild. I'm fortunate to have only lost out on 3 Mavs in FPS (4 on Google Drive) but I have all other players (all celts, heat, warriors) in both leagues.
