Saturday's Pick: Game 7 Decision Time!

Today, the decision is very easy. Well, depending on the format. I joined a group this year on Fantasy Postseason that has a Round multiplier. So, I could pick from Game 7 at 1x the points, or I could pick from Game 1 for 2x the points. Hmmmm...... that's a no brainer. Let's pick JJ Redick. All I need is about 20PRA to win that investment instead of picking one of DeRozan or Jokic since I might lose both of them for next round if I pick incorrectly (i.e. if I pick DeRozan and the Spurs win, that's a huge loss).

However, without the round multipliers, it's an easy call to pick from game 7. The question is, who do you think will win? If you think the Spurs will win, you have to pick Jokic and pick him now. If you are confident the Nuggets will win, then picking your best remaining Spur is the way to go. I'm betting on the Nuggets, so DeMar DeRozan it is!

  1. Sound logic Tangent. Not sure how many of you also participate in the Fantasy Postseason league but if you do, then you can leverage your risk by taking DeRozan in one league and Jokic in the other. Depending on the situation, I have gone away from certain picks on certain days and picked differently in Fantasy postseason vs Google league...and it has worked for me so far! I'm ranked about 49th in Fantasy postseason and keeping pretty steady between 50 and 60 on the overall rankings.

  2. I feel Denver will win. 19% of road teams win game 7 so I got Aldridge

  3. Now that the second round 2x points are rolling up, the selection stakes rise with every game.

  4. I have already picked Jokic and Aldridge, tonight it's DeRozan. If the Spurs win it will complicate rest of rounds, but I guess it will be the same for most of people.

  5. LMA for me (and an injury-prone Irving for the next day)

  6. As a Celts fan, Irving's only major injury issue has been the knee which hasn't been an issue this year. All games this year he sat were for rest with a lame excuse. Short of a significant injury, he's playing every playoff game.

  7. Today I have Tatum. By now I think Bucks and Raptors are favourite, so I will pick a Celtic. And I think this series is the only one that always will have another game on the same day. Also, if the Celtics advance Tatum would probably face Kawhi in the next round, so I don't mind losing his pick now

    1. Bad pick. Only 11 PRA and Celtics win. Bucks looked very bad. We will see adjustments for game2

  8. I went with CP3 today. Felt like Golden State is the favourite until proven otherwise, so picking Rockets is safest right now.

    1. I'm going Rockets to advance they nearly did so last year and I've fallen to 19th after a promising start! I didn't pick any Warrior today I got burned by Tatum's non existent showing!

    2. Tatum blew it. CP3 next game for me as he’ll be solid after being tossed this game. I gotta wait another game in that Celts series. Bucks really let me down.

    3. Rockets got screwed in Game 1. Looking for them to win Game 2. I'm staying away from this series because whoever wins it is going the distance.

  9. I swap out Horford for Tatum at last minute. Can’t believe the Bucks look this awful. I think Lopez needs to move to the bench and Mirotic starting. Needs more scoring and for the Greek freak to operate with more spacing. Lopez was slow and he was not good against Horford. Bledsoe needs to play better to help his team or else the Bucks could get swept or done in 5 games.

So for Tuesday, I think it’s better to pick Middleton and pick Giannis whenever the Bucks are down X-3. We will be picking 3-4 players from POR or HOU. While the GS-HOU series could go 6 or 7 games and on the 4th is the only game to pick from.

For Monday, I think will go with Harris. Not comfortable picking Simmons on the road and Embiid needs to be better maybe playing at home will help him.

  10. Happy for Ken and Celts fans. Stole G1, niiiice!

Not touching that series. Updated roster...

    29: Simmons
    30: Harden
    01: Lillard
    02: Embiid
