Extend or End

Three Game 7s on Saturday! It's the Hawks@Pacers, Grizzlies@Thunder and Warriors@Clippers. For a change, the pick this date is easier than the last few days. Decide which teams lose, then pick your best remaining player from that lot.

The Warriors pulled a winner in Game 6, but the Clippers should be able to get Game 7. If you still have Stephen Curry and you did not pick him in Game 5, then you are clearly vouching for the Warriors; in that case, pick Blake Griffin. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

For me, the Hawks most probably will make the next game close, but ultimately it will be the Pacers. Yes, the Pacers have had problems this postseason, but Game 7s are deal-breakers. They should be able to put it together after all this roller-coaster ride. I already used George, and hopefully I can have the chance to pick the rest of the Pacers later in the playoffs. I already picked Paul Millsap and Jeff Teague so there's no one left to pick from them anyway. If you have either, then feel free to do so. And watch out for any suspensions due to the Game 6 scuffle.

As for the other series, the Thunder should be the heavy favorites for Game 7, so I am picking from the Grizzlies. Mike Conley strained a hamstring this last game, so his next game performance is in doubt. I already used Zach Randolph, so my pick goes to Marc Gasol. [UPDATE: Zach Randolph suspended!]

So who's your best available player among the teams who you think will lose Game 7?

Comments

  1. I have a question... I really think I should use Russell Westbrook just in case the Thunder lose. What do you think of this? Especially since I don't think the Thunder will go far the way they are playing.

    1. If you're really banking on OKC to lose Game 7, then go Westbrook.

If you meant OKC will lose anyway in the next rounds, you might as well pick among [Curry,Millsap,Teague] and use Westbrook later this playoffs. If OKC loses, then at least lose only about 10PRA from the pick.

    2. Thank you but now with Randolph out, I can't see the Thunder losing.

      Delete
    3. Right. Pick the next best available player you have.

  2. Ok Taong, you're right... But I look at it from another side...
I try to keep the maximum players from every team in case they pass to next round. I have:

    LAC: Griffin, Paul, Jordan, Reddick,...
    GSW: Thompson,Iguodala.

    OKC: Westbrook, Ibaka.
    MEM: Gasol

    IND: Stephenson, West
    ATL: Millsap, Teague

So, it's clear i have to pick a Clip... And it is Blake Griffin.

    1. That doesn't seem to be the same strategy you had last year. You stuck with a team for every series.

Maybe the weirdness of this year's Round1?

      Delete
    2. Last year I took the best pick each day... but at last i had no players with decents PRA. I just try to get enough players next round.

      Delete
    3. But the strategy is always day to day... No a general one like you... It's the way of no changing your mind every time... ;-)

  3. Ah Game 7's. Three of them to be precise. Chances are one of them doesn't go our way. I'll once again take my chances with Oklahoma City and pick Marc Gasol. If Memphis wins, I'm in major trouble anyways. I've picked one player from each of Indiana and Atlanta, and I'm keeping it that way. Gonna wait that series out. I've picked one Warrior and no Clippers. I'm going to hold out hope that the Clippers win. If they don't, I have enough Golden State players to sustain myself anyways. I'd be sad to miss out on Blake Griffin but I'm willing to live with that, as I'd also be sad to miss out on Marc Gasol. Go home teams! It's not like the home teams have been losing the majority of the games, right?

    1. With Conley limited, it may be "dump-it-inside" tactic for MEM. ZBo and Gasol should benefit

      Delete
    2. Yep. Go Gasol! Hope he does well in a losing effort. I'd be OK if he only gets a 20 though. That probably means OKC wins anyways, and that is what I really care about.

  4. There is a possibility that Paul George is suspended for Game 7. Stay tuned folks!

  5. Today I have Ellis and the nets but I dont really trust Ellis as he is inconsistent and so are all the nets so im going to go with Lamarcus in case Portland loses tonight ..thoughts???

    1. I trust Monta Ellis, but if I didn't trust him, I would actually be going with LaMarcus Aldridge. He's been a beast in this series, and should get a lot of looks. It would also be safe in case Houston does win Game 6. I'm holding out hope that Portland wins this, but Aldridge will give you big numbers so you can't really lose on that.

      Delete
    2. With Portland still leading the series, I have Aldridge as my Game 7 play, gotta give the edge to the Rockets being on their home floor for a Game 7 if it makes it to that point. For me, Aldridge is a no brainer at that time and I'll still hope the Trailblazers win as I'll still have the other 4 starters who all put up average to great PRA

    3. Ellis is having a bad game as I expected

      Delete
  6. If true, would be the end for indiana, and for who hadn't pick him yet..
I hope he plays, mainly because i want the pacers to win, otherwise miami would be already to the finals without any effort..
3 game7 on saturday night, unbelievable..My fave for these games are OKC, LAC and Pacers(if PG plays)..I'll pick Zibo, 100%..The only doubt is on the clippers warriors game..I give more chances to Golden state to win than to grizzlies and hawks..Against steph, thompson and iguodala everything can happen..anyway i'd still have griffin jordan thompson iguodala and lee for the future..enough..Only a loss of OKC would be bad, because i'd lose the point potential of KD and westbrook that i deliberate saved for the next rounds..
As for tonight parsons is my pick( i already picked both harden and howard)..I think raptors nets would be another game7 on sunday and in that case i'll play lowry..brooklyn has too many experieced players and a game7 is made for them..

  7. Taong, do you agree with my pick of Paul George? I do feel like the Pacers will win, BUT just in case they don't I'd be happier having pick George and if they do, he's the only Pacer I will have used. I do think OKC will win & I do have Gasol available to pick. I have Conley also avail but obviously even if he plays, Gasol is a safer pick for PRA. So George or Gasol? Paul George has potential for the higher PRA and if Grizzlies pull out a stunner I will have already used both Randolph & Gasol whereas if the Pacers advance I'll have the nice George PRA and just he alone picked of the Pacers.

  8. Wow....
........ just thinking... If Portland wins this series...
I have no confidence in any of their players for high PRA's in the next round lol

    3. ok so u mean that batum robin lopez and matthews couldn't score high PRA against SAS..lol in that case i agree but i think that batum is one of those versatile players who can score 20+ PRA against every single NBA team..i love that guy, a great player imho..points, 3 pointers, rebounds, assists, he can do everything..save him:)

    2. i picked zibo before the suspension, now i switch to one between thompson and conley(if fit)

    3. whats the surprise i watched the game and you could see it then that he straight out punched Adams and I was like did i just see that or was i dreaming. Can't believe he would do that OKC are through now they have no shot without Z-bo and a half shot Conley.

Also PG was never going to get banned he and Copeland stepped out a inch over the line and they didn't have any intent they were calm not sure why the coaches rushed over. the coaches overreacted PG was never going to get suspended, it was never in doubt.

  10. First part of my plan worked out all won and I got 39 from Millsap his highest so far.

OKC are going through now, Conley on one leg and Z-bo suspended they have no shot of going through.
Pacers should also go through now but you never know, I just don't think they'll let another home game slip it will be unforgivable. Also apparently Hawks are 0-9 in game 7's I heard this somewhere...

Clippers and Warriors is the only series that I think could have a upset now, Clippers are known chokers and Warriors can get hot which makes them almost impossible to stop in games like that. I'm confident Clippers will win but CP3 better turn up when he needs too.

I went with Dirk today hoping for a big game and they get eliminated just to make it easier for us. Also Blazers I think will close out the series in a big way, possible blowout in my opinion. Nets will win today they have the exp I'm more worried about the game in Toronto. Even then I'm not really stuffed about their players because there's not one that consistently produces they all get scattered pra.

    1. Dirk's 30 PRA is good, take it. Now on to Game 7 :)

  11. I am going with Ellis today. I know the Nets will beat Toronto soundly and the Rockets might win Game 6. Dallas is not a lock to win Game 6 but has a chance IF Monta Ellis provides the spark offensively. For tomorrow, I am NOT picking a Clipper or a Thunder. Instead, I am going with Steph Curry. If the Clips and Thunder lose, I still have Conley and a whole bunch of Warrior players with me. If GSW and MEM lose, then my LAC and OKC teams are complete. Not completely a win-win but a med risk-high reward scenario as I see it.

    1. Yes Steph is a fine pick. Gonna rock it. Sweetest jumpshot since Ray Allen.

  12. Whoops. Three games 6, and all the series go to game 7? And all of these games on the same day? Oy.

It´s kind of funny now that we think every home team is going to win this game 7. I think home teams not named Miami Heat have a combined winning percentage of 12% these playoffs.

    But...

I still think the Pacers will win against the Hawks. I used Millsap and Teague and am not convinced about Korver or Carroll or whoever is there.

I guess the Clippers will beat the Warriors. Bogut out, O´Neal hurt, home court, the Clips should take this. Thomspon or Lee or even Iguodala available.

The Thunder really should win game 7 against the Grizzlies. Picked Randolph and Conley and still have Gasol. Considering all things I picked Gasol.

Then I came here and saw it was Taongs pick as well.
Then I read that Z-Bo is suspended.
I really had the intention to pick Gasol by myself, I swear :D
I´m not just going for the easy points.

Now it looks like Raptors Nets will go 7. I hope the Blazers finish off their series and I hope against hope that the Mavs will make it a fifth decider.

Crazy playoffs. DTTF is really hard this spring. But interesting as well.

  13. Even me being a Thunder fan I do NOT like the NBA suspending Randolph for game seven.....

  14. Could the Nets - Raptors game be the only one Sunday night?
    .....
Can you imagine the complete field of competitors in this contest picking players from just those two teams? That would be wild...!
    ....
People spending picks on players they do not want to. Half the crowd would come out on top....What side would you be on? lol

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That would be easy - it's like pre-game 1 for a second round loss to the Heat. Not much to risk. Pick the best player you have available, and use everyone else next round. For me it's Deron Williams.

    2. I just would have been pretty neat I though to see the percentages for players from JUST the two teams...

    1. did you already take marc gasol?

    2. if you did, then you should pick klay since conley is basically injured and lee has been struggling the whole series. Plus, klay had a bad game so he'll be looking to bounce back, thats just my opinion though

    3. Yea I took Marc. Thanks I'll go with klay

  17. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A classic finish from Damian Lillard!!!!!!!!!!

  18. THAT was INSANE hahaaaaaaa !!!!

  19. Well......... I'm taking a Clipper....
    ...
I only have two good players from both the ATL-IND game
.....Paul Millsap, Jeff Teague then Lance Stephenson, David West.
Not picking from either team because I'd want at least two from both teams to go though rather than the one and be happy...
    ...
From MEM I still have Mike Conley, Tony Allen and Mike Miller
From OKC..Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka, Reggie Jackson and ..................Kendrick Perkens
Hoping for a OKC win and taking them though, I can not pick a MEM player and root for high PRA win I need MY Thunder to win lol
    .....
GS players left...Anre Iguodala, Draymond Green and Harrison Barns
...but just in case they win I need them next round...
Soooooooooooo because I have Sooooooooooo many LAC players left I will pick from them...
    Blake Griffin
    Chris Paul
    Deandre Jordan
    Jamal Crawford
    JJ Ridick
    Matt Barns and
    Darren Collison
......I just have to many of them lol and can afford to let one go..
    ...

  20. I'm going with Deandre Jordan tonight. How's that for a cold pick? If Warriors win, I'll have Thompson, Lee, Iggy. If Clippers win, I'll have Paul, Griffin, and Crawford

    ReplyDelete

    1. I like cold....
.....I was thinking Chris Paul....ONLY because I would rather have Griffin and Deandr Jordan and Crawford to take with me to the next round... to me Chris Paul is not consistent ....
....Nice pick with Jordan.... I'm leaning his way also...
      I will decide later lol
      ....
      Good luck

    2. Now I'm torn between Conley and Jordan. Tough pick.

    3. Conley may still have probs with his hamstring

  21. Klay or Lee or Jordan? Whats your pick? Right now I plugged in Lee (O Neal is likely out), but I'm still thinking if Ill switch him with Klay or Jordan.

    1. Pau, not Jordan. There is a likelihood you can still use him later.

Klay and Lee is a toss-up. Prolly stay with your pick.
