Back To Normal

Alrighty! The Pacers and Thunder are now back on track, stealing their respective Game 3s on the road, and now leading 2-1. Even if the Wizards and Clippers win Game 4, they will not be favoured to win a best-of-3 series later. So for me it's clear that the next pick should be from them.

Assuming a 4-1 ending on the extreme, we will need our two best remaining players among the Wizards+Clippers. For me those are Chris Paul (33 PRA average) and Bradley Beal (30). However, since Paul George is currently shutting down Beal, I'll replace Beal with John Wall (27.7), and he gets my pick for Sunday.

For those still thinking about Saturday's pick, just do the same, lay out your two best remaining player from the Nets+Blazers, and pick only from those two. Preferably the one with the higher potential PRA. No room for cold picks this late in the round. [UPDATE: Switched from Joe Johnson to Nicolas Batum.]

Good luck!

  1. My next two picks are looking to be Batum then Chris Paul...
... I'm going to let the WAS IND series play out one more game, Mainly because I still have Stephenson and West. That could work out for me. My best players for WAS are Beal, Ariza and Gortat...
    ...Going with Batum tomorrow night...
    ........................Thunder up baby !!! :)
    ....
Getting that 46pra from Griffin Force AND them losing was the perfect storm lol...............!!!

  2. One thing that DOES worry me....
.....My plan was to take Batum tonight going cold then use D. Williams in the elimination game at home...
.....What scares me is that MIA is going to sweep. I feel that MIA is NOT going to let the NETS win one to make a statement. They will go up big in the end and the NETS will pull their starters just like what happened in the last series.... CHA pulled their starters with 20mn left and the MIA starts all stayed in... making a statement...
....As easy it for MIA to win against them I just don't see them 'letting' the NETS win even just one... and that last game being a dud for ANY NET players.....
.....Soooooooo I'm actually going to go ahead and use D. Williams......To me this THIRD game IS the ELIMINATION game for the NETS and they know if they go down 0-3 it is OVER. Heck, we ALL know it's over then.... Hell it's OVER now for that matter and I just don't want to get stuck in a meaningless end game....
    .....Yeah, Williams for me tonight....
Though we face the same thing with the SAS POR series I feel that POR actually has a chance to win at least one game especially this next one... that should lead me to play a POR player figuring Batum would stand out, no?
......Now I've got myself to thinking..... So if POR wins tonight then that leads to another good game for POR in the fourth where again I could expect good numbers out of Batum..... sounds good to me...
.....D Williams it is for me.......
    ................any thoughts?

    1. We know Aldridge and lillard will both come out hungry and might not leave any food on the table for the rest of the POR players anyway..

    2. Nothing better than a pick within reason. DWill then Batum should work, especially if you think Nets get done earliest

  3. "Alrighty! The Pacers and Thunder are now back on track, stealing their respective Game 3s on the road, and now leading 2-1." I'm glad about the Thunder especially if you take a look at Charles Barkley having taken BOTH Durant and Westbrook and I'm already laughing at the fact he took LeBron and Dwayne and the Thunder advancing would mean that he has NOBODY to pick half the time in the remaining two rounds. (The other half he would take Spurs or do I daresay Pacers) However with the Pacers leading 2-1 (and I've already said how I'm pissed about a team like that soon to being in R3) it is obvious to start popping out the Wiz can, except it's not so obvious as the Clippers/Thunder are on the same day and I can NOT afford to leave CP3 or BG32 unused. I hear how the Wiz have 5 people who can reach 20+ but those two can get 30+ and if you are real lucky 40+ from BG. With that being said I've had trouble picking players on the right game # and it wouldn't surprise me if one of those gets <30 when I pick him. Like I said Heat need to SWEEP the Pacers.

  4. Great pick with Blake imawake, I'm hoping I haven't missed out by not taking him as I wasn't sure if the Thunder were certainly going to advance but now I am.

  5. John Wall or Bradley Beal tomorrow?

    1. No other options? If none, go Wall. I'm really worried about Beal being guarded by Paul George.

    2. When should we pick Beal then since George will be guarding him every game wouldn't he ??

    3. Until the highest PRA you have is Beal's -5. Who are your options top 3 in Wiz+Clips?

  6. Seeing the results of Game 3 made me really happy I waited out the Pacers-Wizards series. I liked the Wizards but I wanted them to prove to me they were worth my backing. They did not, but I'm now in a good position to grab both John Wall and Bradley Beal and I didn't drop Pacers like a lot of people did. It did cost me Chris Paul, Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin to wait it out, but their performances and OKC being up 2-1 means I don't need to touch that series until Game 6 if I want to focus on Wizards. I'm starting with Bradley Beal, and then John Wall in either Game 5 or perhaps Game 6 if the series goes 2-2. We'll see. I'm not afraid of George guarding Beal. Hard not to like a player who gets 19 shot attempts. He'll have the opportunities, hopefully he cashes more in.

The series are 2-1, but we need to be careful not to expect it to all go down in a predictable way. If I've learned anything this round, it's that I'm doing a terrible job predicting series from the onset (and a great job picking players and waiting things out). I liked the Wizards, Thunder and Blazers, and even switched to the Clippers after Game 1. Yet I've picked no Pacers and Spurs this round. Go figure.

  7. Took a gamble on Wizards to win by picking David West and not only did Pacers win, but West was held under 20. Not a good pick at all, and doubly disappointed seeing it was a late change after initially going with Ariza!

Need to bounce back. Lillard tonight.

  8. Woke up feeling good about Batum. Switched pick from Joe Johnson to Batum. Just like that, boom! I "may" regret it. Let's go!

  10. LeBron just got 20pra in the 1st QUARTER, will Batum get 20 pra in the game? I'm taking Batum tonight in G3 cause most are taking him in G4. If only the Pacer/Wizards and Thunder/Clippers were not on the same night this would be a LOT easier.

    1. I'm feeling pretty good with Batum. I switched from D Williams who only has a 7pra with just over 6mn left in the 2nd qt...I would be pissed if I had him right now.... Batum will do a lot better :)

    2. I do not know who you have available or what the situation is with the your players left in the WAS-IND series.. so hard to tell....

    3. Hmm. i still have everyone on the clippers so im basically looking at blake or cp3. from there its all going to be luck huh?

      Delete
    4. Well...personally I find it hard to see Griffin have a back to back awesome game with a high PRA like the first game(I could be wrong) with that being said I would feel better off playing cp3 if I were you..... hard to tell really....they both play big time.... I would just go with your gut feeling... :)

    5. Only used john wall, paul george, david west from that series also.

    6. So you still have Beal, Ariza then Stephenson. I would let that series play out one more game and go with a LAC player. Looks to me like the Thunder might get that series and may only have 2 maybe 3 games left in that series. #gutfeeling

    7. @Straight, go Griffin. Still the best Clipper PRA you have

    8. Go Griffin. Paul usually comes up big in elimination games.

  13. Damn...I should've went with batum today ...hopefully he does well on game four but I feel like everyone will just go for their own stats on Portland since they know their going to lose

    ReplyDelete
  14. I finally broke my 30+ drought as I hit Batum on the right night with 36 PRA. Now if he is under 36 in G4, I can make up some ground.

    1. As much as I hope he will get better than 36 that's just going to be extremely unlikely so congrats on picking him today

    2. Good luck to you, I'm just trying to make up ground from this past week of struggles.

  15. Congrats to those that picked almost any Portland player (other than Aldridge, who put up mediocre game for him). I wish I would have done the same as you, but I thought the Heat/Nets series would be the one done sooner between them and SA/Portland, so I was picking from the Nets roster. (Paul Pierce with a very disappointing 19 PRA). I thought he would do more being at home, but he just doesn't bring it any more.

The Heat lost, and looked bad doing it. Portland came up real small at home, and have been trounced in every game of this series. San Antonio wins this series at least in 5 @ home, if they don't sweep. As for the Heat, they definitely are not as good as last year. And they certainly might make a mess out of this year, with another loss (or more) to the Nets.

    1. Espn analysts said beforehand that Nets had better chance of stretching their series, than the Blazers. They were right in Game3.

    2. Portland normally played San Antonio tough, at least @ home. The Blazers getting annihilated at home I found surprising to say the least. San Antonio could definitely win there, but normally when they do, it is by a couple of points or so. But this has been a strange playoff year, where the home team is no sure thing to win, like what usually happens.
In any event, hopefully the Blazers can at least win one of their home games, and stretch the series back to San Antonio, so I can pick another Blazer player. I would rather pick a Blazer than a Net player anyway, as most Nets are lucky to crack the 20 PRA plateau.

      Delete
  16. Also tonight's obscure hero was Andray Blatche who put up 25 PRA and beat most of the Nets starters, with a limited amount of minutes on the court. That came out of nowhere. But with the situation in Portland (them losing 3 straight games including a home game), the Blazers were definitely the team to pick from, especially with the Heat deciding to mail it in tonight.
