The Cavs Await!

Just showing off my lone 40+ PRA the whole postseason!!

Yeah I know, 2016 blows :P

---

When the Thunder won Game 4 to a 3-1 advantage, they became favorites to win the series. and we began picking off the Warriors. Even when they lost Game 5 on the road, we keep picking off the Warriors (I got Klay next). Now, losing Game 6 at home... that's unacceptable.

You know what that means. If Thunder loses Game 6, we all pick a Thunder in Game 7 (mine's Westbrook) because the Warriors won't lose a Game 7 at home. So for me, Game 6 is a do-or-die for both teams. Don't miss Game 6 folks!

And oh, congratulations to the Raptors for a great season. Now, they have to pay DeRozan the max. Else, they'll lose the momentum.

Watch out for the Cavs! Going for the ring!

  1. They don't HAVE to pay DeRozan the max. He's an important piece, but he has his weaknesses, in that he is often an inefficient scorer a la Rudy Gay. The Raptors actually got better when they traded Gay. However, they do have the option of either a) sign and trade, or b) sign him to the max. They can't let him walk for nothing, unless they find another key free agent who wants to come to Toronto.

For tonight, I've got OKC closing the series out. However, my future plans in DTTF allow for me to pick a Thunder, just in case Golden State wins tonight (they did win 73 games after all, they deserve some respect). Looking ahead to the Finals, I have more than enough talent that picking somebody like Iguodala or Bogut is not necessary. Thus, tonight I'm picking Andre Roberson. He's had a good series, and the question remains what he will be like in the NBA Finals. Will he have the same impact on the scoresheet that he has had in this series? I'm not taking that chance, so I'll pick him now. It will leave me with LeBron, Irving, JR, Tristan Thompson, Durant, Adams, and Waiters for the finals. Or sub out the last three for Bogut, Iguodala, and TBD (Ezeli? Ugh... don't even want to think about that).

  2. Cleveland finally got the job done by winning on the road in Game #6 and putting the Raptors out of their misery, and saving Toronto from being absolutely destroyed again in a Game #7 in Cleveland. It appears as though the Raptors wanted no part of that prospect, combined with the fact that Cleveland wanted to end things and get extra rest before the Finals begin.

From the losing Raptors team, Kyle Lowry was clearly best (41 PRA). My pick DeMar DeRozan was a huge disappointment only putting up 26 PRA on the night. Then there were a very few slightly marginal success picks: Jonas Valanciunas (15 PRA), DeMarre Carroll (14 PRA), Bismack Biyombo (13 PRA), and Patrick Patterson (12 PRA). Basically other than Kyle Lowry (41 PRA), every other Raptors player stunk at home, which is why they have been eliminated. Also naturally I played Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan on the wrong nights which resulted in a net loss of -8 PRA (79-71). Wonderful!

For tonight OKC looks to get things done at home and end this series and move to the Finals. I haven't seen Golden State do anything when playing @OKC so far this Playoffs to warrant thinking that OKC won't be winning this game tonight and moving on. If for some reason that doesn't happen, then will definitely have to reevaluate the situation I am fairly confident that OKC gets the job done tonight, and I will definitely be picking a Golden State player. I am going with Klay Thompson tonight. He seems to do slightly better on the road vs. at home when playing OKC, and I am hoping he can add a 32+ PRA effort tonight, which he has shown to be more than capable of doing when playing the Thunder. If they unthinkable happens and OKC does not win tonight, I would still have Stephen Curry for the Finals or Game #7 depending on the situation. I don't think I can count on Andrew Bogut to fire off another career performance (31 PRA) like his stellar Game #5 effort. So I'll make hopefully the best choice possible from Klay Thompson (the pick) or Stephen Curry.

  3. Round 3 is the most unforgiving round in the playoffs because every game-day is 1 game and we are still having to save players for the finals. Last year we had it easy with only 9 games (1 above the minimum), this year it's the exact opposite (1 below the max) with 13. The West Finals is officially going the distance after the Thunder's unpredictable collapse in game 6 after winning by 20+ in their first 2 home games of the series. I took K Thompson (google blog) and Curry (on D&S) which is the opposite as in Game 4 and they both went off and it looked great as it appeared they were doing well in a losing cause.... then the Thunder choked and I now won't have Durant for the Finals anymore. I will use him in Game 7 which I presume they'll lose and I will have the CLE Big 3 and then who? That means I will have to pick anywhere from 1-4 mega scrubs!

    1. As we all shall. You are not alone haha. You've got company. I didn't see anybody here saving Warriors over the past two game.

  4. Wow, what an unbelievable game! So much regret that I didn't try out the "save my Warriors" strategy in Drive & Slam. Oh well. I did save Draymond Green. Up next, Kevin Durant!

    1. Now something is going on with D&S! It says I took Hassan Whiteside instead of Curry!!!!!!!!!! I'm losing it, in fact I'd actually be losing it more with that if GS had lost. Why would it say I took a player whose team has long since been eliminated?

    2. If I do have alzheimers and somehow picked Whiteside and didn't even change it like I adjusted the Warriors in the other series then I just took a 0. I am already missing a day in D&S that I did pick but now I don't know if something is happening or I picked someone on the wrong day or for whatever reason. Now there is some consolation due to GS winning if I somehow already picked an eliminated player (equivalent to no pick) is that I could actually take Curry in the Finals with X4 assuming the Thunder don't somehow win Game 7.

    3. Thanks man, I don't know what's going on with me these days, any how now we need to find a way to clean up the mess which is called the 2016 NBA Playoffs, driving us crazy!

    4. If GS somehow didn't lose G1 most of us would have their big 3. Oh well, In the finals I have the Cavs (big 3), Tr. Thompson, Bogut, Livingston and either (Delly/Speights/Ezeli/Barbosa/RJ/Shumpert) in G7.
