Picks Start Friday Noon New York Time

The picks page is already functional, just working out the tiny bits to make it smoother before we let you all see it. I'll send out an email to all via Drive & Slam when it's ready Friday noon EDT. Thank you for your patience.

Now, will my Mavs finally get out of the first round? :P

UPDATE: Almost there!!!  Wait a few minutes, I'll post a blog entry for the picks entry.

  2. This should be an interesting first round, but a bit more straightforward. I think it's safe to assume the Warriors, Spurs, Cavs, and Thunder advance (sorry Mavs...). I really like the Raptors as well, but with their recent playoff woes, I'll let them prove it first. Same for the Clippers. They have to earn back my confidence after last year. That leaves only two series with a high amount of doubt, unsurprisingly the 3-6 teams in the East who all finished at 48-34. I like the Atlanta Hawks and the Miami Heat, but for some reason my gut is telling me the Charlotte Hornets are a team to look out for, so we shall see. It helps that there are a number of series to be confident about in the West.

Of the teams expected to lose, there are 12 players in "tier 1", with a pretty sizeable drop to "tier 2". All those players can be picked safely by the end of Game 5, so I don't expect there to be the type of logjam we are sometimes accustomed to. Also, the Heat and Hawks have equivalent number of tier 1 picks compared to their opponent, so swapping one for the other will be pretty easy if the underdog looks like they will prevail.

The Google Drive is set up and all ready to go. Don't forget to make your pick Taong! Just scroll over to your box for the day and type in the guy you want (e.g. S Curry GS). The boxes are coloured black so that the picks remain hidden until the start of the last game of that day.

    1. Just want to add in that it's not too late to join the Google Drive setup if anyone else wants in. Just send me an email ( my username @gmail.com). We don't use the multipliers and stick to the classic PRA format.

  3. Thanks again for this Taong. We must not ever let this game die! Regardless of whatever form it's in, let's keep playing yearly & I'd love to help you develop Drive & Slam so that we no longer have to live in fear of the NBA not having DTTF

    1. I think Drive & Slam will be great even if DTTF were to return to NBA.com, as it would have options for different ways to play (e.g. multipliers). So it would provide an additional option in the market.

    2. I agree. I just really loved the format of how DTTF integrated the real time stats, the way the daily leader would be lit up, all that stuff. I'd be down to help contribute to Drive & Slam getting to that level via funding or whatever it takes really!

    3. Agreed. Nothing better than getting that green box around the daily point leader. It was a feeling of true accomplishment.

  4. Hi Taong! Can you please explain to me why using the multipliers would be better than not using them? Is there any chance you can allow private leagues not to use the multipliers? Thank you!
    Mattia.

    1. All is public now. Later we will add private flag. But for now, feel free to kick anyone you don't know out of your league.

DTTF players are tough enough to take it ;)
