Clipped

With Griffin and Paul confirmed out of the playoffs with injuries, the Blazers are now expected to win this series. Now, don't mess this up Blazers, because I'm switching my pick on the 27th from the Hornets' Lin to the Clippers' DeAndre Jordan. He has played great when Griffin was out during the season, and that should be in full display in Game 5. If you doubt that, there is 6th Man of the Year Jamal Crawford as a great alternative as he should be picking up Paul's minutes.

As for the 28th, the Hawks will be looking to close out the Celtics. From that pool, my best remaining player is Evan Turner. Avery Bradley's absence has helped his game and he should continue to shine in Game 6.

Good luck!

  1. I'm not going close to DJ until he proves he can do it. The starting backcourt is Redick and Rivers. I don't trust them to serve DJ properly. DJ is not an isolation guy, he can't create his own shot.

Crawford isn't all that much of a passer either. DJ's best hope is big minutes for... Prigioni? I know DJ is the most popular pick, and I'm expecting something like 12 pts - 15 boards from him. Which is good, I like going out there and taking risks.

Probably going to go Crawford game 6 unless Charlotte wins tonight. Am I crazy for thinking Jeff Green might be my play tonight? He can do iso, he can set up his own shots, and the Clips aren't getting much offense from Aldrich or Mbah a Moute...

  3. I was thinking DeAndre Jordan, and then the Taong curse hit. So I'm swapping that for Jamal Crawford. This season, when Paul has missed games, he's played heavy minutes and had many 30+ performances. Almost all of those games were at home, so with the lack of sample size, I'll try and see if that trend continues.

Yesterday could not have worked better for me. Paul George had a surreal 55 PRA performance, and the Raptors won. I was working for most of the game, so I only caught the fourth quarter. As a Canadian cheering for the Raptors, it was great that George game me the numbers, and I didn't have to painfully witness any of it, because by the time I started watching the fourth, he already had 50. No conflict of interest for me, as a couple extra PRA was less valuable than the Raptors winning. Now everybody who still has him have to pick Paul George in game 6, and people who picked Raptors and Hawks yesterday, I have the advantage on. Sweet! Actually, yesterday could have been slightly better. Isaiah Thomas mildly sprained his ankle. I've been waiting all this time and now who knows how he will be in game 6.

I think the strategy of "sticking to your guns" is a tad overrated. I prefer a strategy of being malleable to the situation. If I think that a certain team will win, I'll play it that way. If new information changes my mind, I'll change accordingly. I don't like going down with a sinking ship because of the picks I made a while ago. Hence tonight, I'm making the switch to picking Clippers. If the Hornets beat the Heat or the Clippers beat the Blazers, I'll consider switching my stances on those two series. I like to follow the flow of the series and see where that takes me.

    1. His 5+ assists should help the Hornets. If Batum gets 25 PRA in G5, he should be a contender for a G6 pick.

    2. Breaking news, Hornets won-Heat are on the brink and probably none of us have taken any Heat players. Two 2-0 leads lose?

    3. Changing a pick from a Hornet to DJ... that may be the only good move I'll have this year lol

  5. April 29 will be a pivotal day for our game..3 elimination matches!George, Wade or Jordan? If Pacers force to game 7 and Miami too, the smart pick will be DeAndre..but it's very risky one..maybe a safer move is Paul George?
